ACT is a volunteer, nonprofit organization that relies on the generosity and skills of parents and volunteers to put on plays and workshops. When a child participates in a play or workshop, parents are offered the opportunity to take part in the production by contributing in such areas as set building, assistant stage managing, costumes, etc. Each ACT production establishes work committees and specifies the minimum number of work hours. Parent involvement is crucial to keeping fees low and making ACT theatre accessible to as many families as possible.
While a contribution of work hours is much preferred, ACT will offer an alternative for parents who are unable to contribute even the minimum required work hours - a modest monetary contribution toward the costs of production.
